Sony isn't giving up on portable gaming just yet

It was reported earlier this week that Sony will no longer be making physical PlayStation Vita games. The announcement didn’t come as a surprise considering that the handheld console is quite old now and the company doesn’t really have any plans to launch a successor. So while the company is not going to ship physical Vita GameCards globally by the end of fiscal year 2018, Sony Japan will continue making and selling them in its home country. Sony is no longer going to make physical PlayStation Vita game cards which means that those who own this console in markets across North America and Europe will now be out of luck. That much the company had officially confirmed earlier this week.An important distinction to be made here is that the company is only discontinuing the production of game cards and not the console.
