Apple didn’t mention this yesterday when it was unveiling the iPhone 8 and iPhone X but it has now been detailed that both new handsets support fast charging. There is, however, a caveat. You have to use USB-C if you want to fast charge your new iPhone. Apple claims that the new handsets can recharge up to 50 percent of their battery capacity in 30 minutes. In order to take advantage of the fast charging feature of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, customers will have to purchase an Apple USB-C charger and a Lightning cable. They will have to pay over and above what they pay for their iPhone so that they’re able to recharge 50 percent of their handset’s battery capacity in 30 minutes.Users can not take advantage of the fast charging feature with the Lightning to USB-A cable that comes bundled with the new iPhones in the box.
