Motorola's Moto Mod gamepad is $80 (and a Verizon exclusive)

While companies such as LG and Google have ultimately abandoned their plans for modular phones, Motorola is still at it with their Moto Mods designed for their Moto Z family of smartphones. Now if you’re a gamer, then you might be interested to learn that the Gamepad Moto Mod will soon be available.The company initially announced the Gamepod mod way back in February earlier this year. We’re not sure what took them so long to bring it to market, but we guess better late than never as Motorola has announced that the mod will be available for purchase starting on the 25th of August where it will be priced at $79, which is admittedly pretty steep when you consider that there are probably quite a few cheaper gamepads out there.Also it seems that the Gamepad mod will be sold exclusively through Verizon, meaning that if you were hoping to pick it up at another store where you might have loyalty points or discounts, it seems that you’d be out of luck for now.
